Big shoes to fill...

Drew in his brother's chair

One day Zach kept telling me, "shoes" when I was out of sight.  He normally says this when he wants to go outside, but apparently he got a hold of dad's shoes...

Odds and Ends

Though we chose to keep the Easter baskets sparse, the bubbles were (are) a huge hit.  We've been playing with them all week!  It's odd to me that they were the favorite over "t(r)ucks" and barbie clothes.
Look at that hair!  Though he has the least of all my kids at this age, it has a mind of it's own.  I finally took some blunt Crayola scissors to those crazy ends.

Apparently, all that work we've put into teaching him to spell has been worth it:)

And here are Faith's cakes.  Yes, I said cakeS!  Her dad outdid himself this year and refused any help from me.  I had no idea I married a cake boss:)

Faith and I had a Girl's Night the other night.  It was much needed and we had so much fun!  She got to pick out some clothes for her Build a Bear cat with Easter money from Nana.  Thanks Nana!  We also went and bought the first in a series of books called the Betsy-Tacy books which were suggested by our pastor's wife.  They chronicle the life of a girl from (of all places) Mankato, Minnesota.  They were written in the 1940's so they're wholesome chapter books that we'll be able to read together as she grows older.  It was on my list of Things to do with Faith that Lord willing I will be able to complete.

And then there's Zach.  He consumes most of my energy these days and creates most of my stress.  I have discovered why the Lord gave us the protective epidermis layer in the past month and often wonder if Zach will even have the ability to grow hair on his legs with all the scar tissue he is accumulating there.  The other day after discovering chewed up berries from an unknown species of bush, bloodying up his nose from jumping on a bed, and sending his brother into a screaming episode from a headbutt, I decided we were going to watch TV for the rest of the afternoon.  I wanted to post video of him to give you a little taste of what I deal with these days, but due to some uploading issues, this picture will have to speak for itself.
