Christmas Catch Up Part 2

Despite our fears of not making it to MN with all the snow, we relished the sight of it once we got there. Faith would not stop eating it! After taking a good 20 minutes to bundle her up, she and Josiah took to the hills to sled. Fifteen minutes and about 3 face plants later, she was done.

We celebrated Grace's first birthday while we were there. I got to spend more time with her this time around and so enjoyed her. This girl is no pansy and can hold her own. Having an older brother it's more out of necessity than anything.

Faith had asked to go ice skating while we were in MN. I think she was thinking a more idyllic setting like a lake but we had to rent skates, so to the local hockey rink we went. She more chair skated where we pushed her in a chair since the skates that were given to us were more like blocks of ice than footwear. Ryan and I even got to skate around holding hands, awwww...

It is so fun now that Ava is getting older. Faith was instructing her in the way of dress up and Ava politely went along with it.
We did go to Dallas as well, but didn't get much for pictures. You can tell there are older kids there, we got too busy talking!
This is the ONLY halfway decent photo we have of the kids together, so I'm including it since I
don't know when we'll see another.
And last but not least, 3 generations of Polo shirted, khaki dress panted fellas.
Happy New Year!

Christmas Catch Up

With the flurry of activity at our household lately, I'm going to have to do at least a couple of posts to stay up to speed on what has been happening. So forgive me if I'm a little more wordy than usual.

We had our Santa fix this year. Faith was able to let him know what she wanted at the mall (a sewing machine, so she could sew with mom:) and remind him again at the firm kid's Christmas party where he makes his annual appearance. As you can see from the photo below, Zach would have been fine with letting Faith make all the requests.

Faith was invited to a princess birthday party recently where Cinderella came to teach them how to act like a princess. I so dig Faith's gloves and purse (thanks Aunt Heather).

We spend about 90% of our playtime at home role playing. Since Zach got to be baby Jesus in our church play this year, Faith felt we should rehearse at home (Gema is the donkey). Faith has been attending big church with us lately, and it has proven to be very eye-opening for her. She learned from the pastor that the wisemen did not actually go to the stable to see Jesus, but rather to their home when Jesus was around 2 years old. So there were no wisemen in this scene. I had to be a shepherd.

Faith will start a Kid's Day Out program at our church beginning this Monday. She got to attend a special Pajama and Movie Day there before we left. If there is anything this girl loves, it is nightgowns and tv. Santa put this gift (an Ariel nightgown with her name on it) down the chimney a little early so she could use it on that day. She found it right in front of the fireplace behind the screen with a note. I enjoy Santa so much more as a parent:)

Part 2 will be posted shortly, with video.
